Dr. Gladys Ibañez received her doctorate in psychology from Georgia State University in 2002 and obtained a postdoctoral fellowship from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Her research focus is HIV, substance abuse, qualitative methodology, LGBT health research, and intervention development. She has a special interest in Latino populations, and criminal justice and health issues.
She has served as either principal investigator or co-investigator on numerous federally funded research projects including the development of a culturally appropriate HIV prevention intervention for Latino criminal justice clients.
Currently, she is part of a collaborative project with the University of Florida’s Southern HIV & Alcohol Research Consortium (SHARC), overseeing a study on alcohol use among HIV+ individuals in Florida (The Florida Cohort Study).
