The Department of Radiation Oncology was founded in 2017 within the organizational structure of the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) at Florida International University. As the Founding Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology, Id like to welcome you to our program. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to providing the best possible care for our patients and the most compassionate support for their families. The Department faculty and clinical training resides at the Miami Cancer Institute located on the campus of Baptist Hospital, part of Baptist Health South Florida system. Here, students are exposed to an unparalleled radiation therapy program that includes world-renowned radiation oncologists and the most advanced radiation therapy technologies. Students and trainees have the opportunity to interact with a team of medical specialists that collaborate with each other and across medical disciplines to offer patients comprehensive clinical expertise. One of our missions is to train tomorrow's outstanding physicians and leaders by providing them with guidance, opportunities and mentorship. As part of the HWCOM, we are dedicated not just to patient care, education, and research, but also to the improvement of health in our community.
