Weidong Xia is a professor in the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics in the College of Business at Florida International University (FIU). Prior to joining FIU, he was a faculty member in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He received his Ph.D. in information systems and strategic management from the University of Pittsburgh, an executive program certificate in information services from Harvard Business School, a leadership six-sigma black belt certificate from Juran Center for Leadership in Quality at the University of Minnesota.
His research relates to Business and IT Strategy, Digital Transformation, Organizational and Project Agility, Healthcare IT Management, Innovation Adoption and Evaluation, and Outsourcing Management. He has published in such referred journals as MIS Quarterly, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of MIS, European Journal of Information Systems, Decision Sciences, Journal of Medical Internet Research, Journal of Business Research, Communications of the ACM, Journal of Information Systems, Information and Management, Computers & Security, and Information Technology and People.
He has taught in PhD, Executive MBA, MBA, Healthcare MBA, IMBA, MS in Information Systems (MSIS), MS in Health Informatics and Analytics (MSHIA), and Undergraduate Programs, and have received several best professor and best course awards.
He has served as journal editorial board member, conference program/committee member, track chair, and journal referees, including as an Associate Editor for Information Systems Research and Operations Editor for MIS Quarterly.
