biography

  • Dr. Dwayne McDaniel is a Principal Scientist at the Applied Research Center. He received his Ph.D. in engineering mechanics from the Aerospace, Engineering Mechanics and Engineering Science Department at the University of Florida in 2000. Dr. McDaniel has conducted research as the principal investigator for various agencies including the FAA and ARO. His responsibilities include designing and directing applied research in mechanical, aviation, and aerospace applications for the federal government and the private sector; managing the technical and fiscal aspects of research projects; preparing progress reports, deliverables, and proposals; and representing FIU-ARC in business relationships. Dr. McDaniel is currently the PI on two projects that involve the manufacturing of advanced engineering materials. He is also the project manager for the high-level waste project which has been funded by DOE EM at $1M annually.
