biography

  • Dr. Robert Laird earned a BS in Physics from Eastern Kentucky University and an MS and PhD in Physics from Florida State University. He is an experimental nuclear and medical physicist whose research interests lie at the interdisciplinary junction between physics and medicine. Over the past decade, Dr. Laird has directed over 20 undergraduate research projects and senior theses related to radiation detection metrology and functional magnetic resonance imaging. He has received numerous teaching awards including the Texas Lutheran University Professor of the Year Award, St. Mary's University Delta Zeta Outstanding Professor Award, and Trinity University's Alpha Lambda Delta Outstanding Professor Award. Dr. Laird's current research activities are funded by the National Institutes of Health.
