Dr. Hülya Avcı is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the STEM Transformation Institute, College of Arts, Sciences & Education at Florida International University. She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Learning Design and Technology from Texas A&M University in August 2024. Her dissertation examined the digital competencies of in-service K–12 teachers in U.S. schools, emphasizing the multilevel ecological factors that shape teachers’ pedagogical digital competence. Dr. Avci has presented her work at national and international conferences and has published multiple first-authored articles in peer-reviewed journals.
In her first year of postdoctoral research at FIU, she contributed to the NSF-funded project, supporting high school physics teachers in encouraging students to pursue careers in science (physics). In her current role, she leads a research project on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education, focusing on faculty practices, student engagement, and the ethical considerations of AI adoption. She collaborates with multiple stakeholders, incorporating their perspectives to inform research-based approaches to AI integration.
