biography

  • Dr. Rosa Roche is the Interim Chair for Graduate Nursing of the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences. In addition, she joins as a full-time faculty member after more than eight years as an adjunct professor for FIU’s graduate nursing program.

    She received her BSN from FIU in 1985 and worked for Children's Medical Services as a Case Manager for chronically ill children. Eventually, Dr. Roche became a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner worked in the department of Pulmonology for 16 years. In 2014, she received her PhD In Nursing from FIU to continue her research endeavors where she was named to FIU’s Top 25 Alumni list.

    She is a licensed National Certified Asthma Educator and previously worked as a pediatric nurse at Miami Children’s Hospital and Mercy Hospital.

    She has also received research grants to study cystic fibrosis and asthma and appeared in various publications, including the Journal of Pediatric Nursing, Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Nursing Open Journal, Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing, and the International Journal of Nursing Clinical Practice.
