Yaobin Liu is a linguist by training and his research interests lie in syntax (the study of linguistic structure), semantics (the study of linguistic meaning), and their interface. He also studies the computational approaches to syntax and semantics as a secondary interest. He has published three proceedings articles and conducted over ten conference presentations. He teaches undergraduate linguistics classes at FIU and enjoys solving linguistics puzzles with his students. He has won a CASE Faculty Award in Service.
