Dr. Kuntz joined FIU in 2020 to serve as clinical assistant professor and Director of Prestigious Scholar Development. Her scholarly work has appeared in Harvard Educational Review, Philosophy and Theory in Higher Education, and Emerging Adulthood. Dr. Kuntz’s forthcoming co-edited volume for Harvard Education Press focuses on ethical dilemmas surrounding equity, freedom, and inclusion in higher education. As a graduate student, Dr. Kuntz benefitted from the Spencer Foundation Philosophy of Education Fellowship. She is currently co-PI on a Spencer Foundation Conference Grant. As Director of Prestigious Scholar Development, Dr. Kuntz supports FIU students in applying for nationally-competitive scholarships. At her prior institution, she mentored recipients of the Rhodes, Marshall, Truman, Udall, Goldwater, Fulbright, Critical Language, and Gilman Scholarships, among others.
A first-generation college student from rural north Alabama, Dr. Kuntz is mindful of the transformative impact college made on her life and eager to expand educational opportunities to others. She is married with four children and takes seriously her responsibilities as a parent, educator, and citizen.
