Dr. Alok Deoraj is a Teaching Professor and the Graduate Program Director in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at Florida International University in Miami, FL, USA. He teaches public health courses focused on Global Health, Environmental Health, and One Health. Additionally, Dr. Deoraj develops public health-related courses and curricula, including online degree programs.
His current research interests focus on molecular toxicology, specifically assessing the cancer risk associated with individual or combined exposures to environmental endocrine-disrupting chemicals, heavy metals, PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), and microplastics. Dr. Deoraj has numerous publications in his research interest areas, and he also serves as a reviewer and academic editor of professional journals.
Dr. Deoraj completed his Master of Science in Zoology at Patna University in Patna, India, and he earned his PhD in Immunology-Zoology at the National Institute of Immunology, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.
