Dr. Cabrera Tineo is a Postdoctorate Associate at The Center of Research on US Latino HIV/Drugs Abuse (CRUSADA), Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work, Florida International University. She completed her doctoral studies in Counseling Psychology and a Graduate Certificate in Health Disparities at the University at Albany – State University of New York (SUNY Albany). She also received her masters of science in Counseling Psychology at SUNY Albany and her undergraduate degree in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice – City University of New York. Her research focuses on examining sociocultural determinants of health and health risk behaviors predominantly among the Latino/a/x community to inform culturally-responsive preventative efforts and treatment interventions.
Trained as a scientist-practioner, Dr. Cabrera Tineo has extensive clinical experience, with her having completed a trauma-informed clinical post-doctoral fellowship in private practice. She also completed pre-doctoral training in a variety of health settings, including a community center, college counseling services, and private, state, and federal hospitals.
