Health Services Administration Organization

The Health Services Administration program of the Florida International University Nicole Wertheim Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences (NWCNHS) serves a highly diverse population of students who want to enter the dynamic and global healthcare arena. The 60-credit Bachelor of Health Services Administration (BHSA) degree qualifies graduates for entry-level management positions in a variety of health-related organizations and prepares graduates for further study at the graduate level. A 5-course Minor of Health Services Administration holds great value for students who are pursuing a bachelors degree in another field but also have an interest in health services administration. FIU Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA) provides professional education for management careers in health services organizations. Graduates of this degree will learn the theories and issues of managing complex organizations in both public and private settings and will be prepared to serve in a variety of administrative roles in the healthcare industry. Offered in a convenient hybrid format, each course will have both an online and on-campus component. Fifty percent of the content of each course will be online, and the other fifty percent will be on-campus. The emphasis of our program is on ethical change management, inter-professional collaboration, leadership, informatics and communication, and the preparation of diverse health services managers to become leaders in the delivery of high quality, accessible, culturally competent and evidence-based management of healthcare organizations within a constantly changing and fast-paced highly technological environment.
