Carmen’s Story: Carmen shares her experiences as a Cape Verdean caregiver, supporting her loved one with Alzheimer’s disease. Her story emphasizes cultural identity, resilience, and the importance of family support systems in caregiving. The project was funded through the Erica Wertheim Zohar Community Mental Health Chair Endowment, chaired by Dr. Ellen Leslie Brown, and disseminated through the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences at Florida International University in collaboration with the Dementia Care and Cure Initiative (DCCI).
