abstract

  • Grizelle’s Story: Grizelle, a devoted Cuban-American daughter, dedicated 20 years to caring for her mother Daisy, who lived with advanced Alzheimer’s disease. Her heartfelt account reflects themes of sacrifice, cultural heritage, and enduring love across generations. The project was funded through the Erica Wertheim Zohar Community Mental Health Chair Endowment, chaired by Dr. Ellen Leslie Brown, and disseminated through the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences at Florida International University in collaboration with the Dementia Care and Cure Initiative (DCCI).
