  • Recent advancements in hydrogel technology have come up with innovative ideas and inventions in the field of medicine and engineering applications. Emphasis has been given to developing safe and green systems that reduce the limitations associated with the existing technologies and therapies. Green chemistry has highlighted the usage of safe and biodegradable materials to develop hydrogel materials. In this regard, vegetable oils have attracted significant attention for their use as starting materials for the development of various biomaterials. This chapter details the benefits associated with vegetable oils and highlights the development of vegetable oil-based hydrogels in various biomedical applications.
