abstract

  • To address the beam blockage for future millimeter-wave (mmWave) links, this paper presents the implementation of a 1-bit phase shifter beamforming network. To do so, a 20x20 low-power Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) is used to create a smart wireless environment capable of high-data rate transmission and interference mitigation. This adaptive beamforming strategy using RIS surfaces employs Genetic Algorithm (GA) optimization of the phase shifting process.
