Zhonghua Wu is a Professor in Real Estate and Tibor & Sheila Hollo Research Fellow at Florida International University (FIU). He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006 and joined the College of Business of FIU as an Assistant Professor that same year. In 2012, he was awarded tenure and promoted to Associate Professor at FIU.
Dr. Wu’s research focuses on real estate finance and investments. He has published in leading real estate and finance journals and is recognized as a highly productive researcher in the field. His paper won the Best Manuscript Award at the 2022 Annual Meeting of the American Real Estate Society. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Real Estate Research.
Since joining FIU, Dr. Wu has received multiple teaching excellence awards from the College of Business. He has been the Faculty Director of the MSIRE program since 2019. Under his guidance, FIU students have excelled in national real estate competitions, with four teams securing top prizes in recent years.
Dr. Wu has served as a referee for the National Science Foundation, Real Estate Economics, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, and other real estate and finance journals. In recognition of his outstanding review contributions to the Journal of Real Estate Research, Dr. Wu received the Red Pen Award from the American Real Estate Society in 2018.
