biography

  • Erin K. Loeb joined FIU College of Law as a visiting assistant professor in August 2017 and as an assistant professor in August 2020. Professor Loeb teaches Legal Skills & Values I and II and Appellate Procedure. Prior to joining FIU Law, Professor Loeb worked as an Assistant Professor of Academic Support at a local law school.

    Professor Loeb spent the majority of her legal career in the appellate judiciary, having served as Senior Law Clerk to the Honorable Frank A. Shepherd and Honorable Edwin A. Scales, III, at the Third District Court of Appeal, where she handled civil, criminal, and administrative appeals. Professor Loeb also has experience in private practice.

    Professor Loeb received her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Strum College of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. Upon her graduation from law school, she clerked at the Colorado Court of Appeals for both the Honorable Leonard P. Plank and Honorable Dennis A. Graham. She received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University

    Professor Loeb is a member of both the Florida Bar and Colorado Bar.
