  • Dr. Carmen Caicedo, MSN, PhD is a Tenured Professor for Undergraduate and Graduate Nursing at the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

    Dr. Caicedo is a renown nurse researcher with years of experience in parent health stressors, parent cooping mechanisms following child loss, infant care, and caregiver attitudes and beliefs.

    The research completed by Dr. Caicedo has received numerous accolades and funding from multiple organizations including National Institute of Health, Florida Nurses Foundation, and Sigma Theta Tau.

    Her work has been instrumental in understanding parental and sibling grief post loss of a child or sibling and has been published in numerous journals including the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Journal of Hospice Palliative Care, Journal of Child and Family Studies, American Journal of Critical Care, Journal of Pediatric Health Care, and Journal of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.

    Moreover, Dr. Caicedo has supervised numerous Doctoral Nursing Students as Dissertation Chair and Committee Member.

    She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami and her Ph.D. in Nursing from Florida International University.
