abstract

  • The finite element method is used to model thick-film striplines and compute their characteristic parameters. The modeling technique is presented and demonstrated in two thick-film stripline geometries. The two geometries considered are the 'all-thick film stripline' (layered microstrip), and the balanced coplanar stripline (coupled slots and coplanar wave guide). The method proved to be efficient and reliable in modeling stripline geometries considered. Comparison between measured and computed line parameters are given.
