In this work, a new Rotman lens-based beamforming network is proposed, capable of steering beams in both azimuth and elevation. Conventional two-dimensional beamforming architectures are often realized by cross-connecting two stacks of one-dimensional beamforming networks, resulting in bulky, nonplanar topologies. To address this, we introduce a fully planar lens-based topology along with its associated connecting network (e.g., n-port crossovers) that steer beams in two dimensions. Moreover, the proposed approach preserves the true-time-delay (TTD) behavior of Rotman lenses, enabling wideband beam steering with reduced beam squint. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first planar, lens-based multibeam network that can scan the entire field of view.
