Recent innovations has driven the development of low-power ultra-wideband (UWB) transceivers. Notably, UWB wireless links enable interference immunity by using direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) modulation in conjunction with complex digital modulation techniques to enhance immunity against noise, interference, and multipath fading. This work introduces a complex modulation/demodulation scheme with offset quadrature phase shift keying (OQPSK) scheme to realize a low probability of intercept (LPI) links, offering improved robustness over traditional quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) by mitigating phase ambiguity. A digital twin (DT) circuit model was employed to predict and validate system-level impairments to accurately reflect UWB Radio Frequency (RF) transceiver performance.
