abstract

  • Undergraduate nursing students at a large public university identified the need for stronger academic performance, engagement, representation, communication, and mentorship. Literature supports the significant role of faculty-student liaisons in fostering professional growth and improving satisfaction, communication, and outcomes. Effective liaison practices; emphasizing accessibility, cultural sensitivity, and respectful interactions are associated with positive and sustainable results. The Student-Faculty CARE Liaison initiative was designed to enhance collaboration and communication across cohorts, providing structured mentorship and advocacy opportunities. This poster describes the implementation of the program, its theoretical foundation, and early outcomes demonstrating improved engagement, professionalism, and sense of community among nursing students. Findings underscore the value of liaison roles in undergraduate nursing education and highlight the need for continued evaluation of innovative, student-centered approaches.
