  • This chapter supports teacher-educators and educational practitioners who seek to leverage their classroom spaces as sites of research to enhance their teaching and pedagogical practice in benefit of student's learning. Following a brief overview of the case study methodology, this chapter offers recommendations for designing and writing up case study researcher that teacher educators or practitioners can carry out in their contexts. The author draws on his own experiences enacting case study research as a teacher educator and offers suggestions for: formulating research questions, seeking approval to conduct research, determining how theory can shape varying lines of inquiry, gathering multiple sources of data, and analyzing data to write up case study research. The chapter closes by highlighting the efficacy of language and literacy case study research in shaping fields of study and provides recommendations for future research trajectories.
