abstract

  • We draw on primary survey data and utilize multilevel modeling to provide organizations with actionable knowledge on how they can employ health-promoting leadership to reduce negative employee health-related outcomes i.e., sickness absence, presenteeism, and somatic symptoms. This not only helps to promote organizations’ economic objectives, through enhanced productivity, but it also enables organizations to advance in their social responsibility, by improving the health and wellbeing of their employees, and thus contributing towards meeting UN SDG 3: to ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages. Our work also integrates and extends regulatory focus and regulatory fit theories.
