Single-factor analysis of variance (ANOVA) is reviewed from a practitioner's viewpoint with the help of sample data. A step-by-step method to test the hypothesis of equal means among three or more independent groups is discussed. The use of graphical tools to check the assumptions in ANOVA procedure and methods for multiple comparisons are also included.
