It is critical to take good notes and keep track of your references in order to bring one's research together once one is finally ready to write. Citation Managers might come to the forefront at the end of this process with fancy writing tools & bibliography generators, but to be most effective they need to be present throughout the journey. Librarian Christopher M. Jimenez discusses the role of note taking and citation management while showing off some of these tools in this presentation.
