abstract

  • Using Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Corporate Equality Index ratings of 627 firms between 2002 and 2011, we identify competing normative, coercive, and mimetic pressures on the implementation of work place policies for LGBT employees by major U.S. firms. We also find that organizational discretion influences the adoption of these policies.
