abstract

  • Antenna design using rigorous hybrid finite element computational toolsets is presented. The developments in computational electromagnetics led to the finite element-boundary integral (FE-BI) algorithms and associated codes providing for full geometrical adaptability and material generality. Finite element algorithms are suited for applications with both material modeling and large scale requirements. A successful integration of robust conformal antenna modeling with optimization algorithms is presented and layered bandgap configurations to serve as frequency selective volumes is discussed.
