abstract

  • This article examines the growth and scope of corporate benefits packages and their usefulness to the average worker. A sample of benefits packages from Fortune 500 corporations was assessed, and results revealed that both the documents'readability and comprehensibility levels far exceed that of the average worker. The study builds on the recent and growing scholarly focus on “mass” business communications and proposes a number of promising avenues for future research. © 1990, Sage Publications.
