biography

  • Doctor Jorge Camilo Mora obtained his medical degree at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. After completing his Masters’ in Public Health at the Harvard School of Public Health in 2000, Dr. Mora worked with the Harvard AIDS Institute and François-Xavier Bagnoud International. His work focused on issues related to health care access, HIV/ AIDS, and health and human rights in India, Colombia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Later, Dr. Mora joined the University of Texas where he was program manager for a National Institutes of Health sponsored Community Programs for Clinical Research in AIDS at the Houston AIDS Research Team. He oversaw four clinical centers with over 3,000 individuals living with HIV/AIDS. After Dr. Mora completed his family medicine residency at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, he joined Broward General Hospital in Broward County, Florida and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. In September 2009, Dr. Mora joined Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine as faculty in Family Medicine. In 2013, Dr. Mora completed his fellowship in geriatric medicine at Cleveland Clinic.

    Dr. Jorge Camilo Mora is currently the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Director of Geriatric Education and Clinical Nutrition; and the Professional Development Strand Leader at the Herbert Wertheim Florida International University College of Medicine.
