biography

  • Dr. Padideh (Padi) Lovan is an Assistant Professor in Dietetics and Nutrition at Florida International University whose research advances equitable, community-informed approaches to cancer prevention and survivorship. Her work examines how health-related behaviors (i.e., dietary intake, physical activity, smoking, and alcohol consumption), psychosocial factors, family, environment, weight-related outcomes, and neighborhood environments shape cancer prevention and survivorship strategies across diverse populations. Drawing on clinical, behavioral, and epidemiologic methods, she designs and evaluates lifestyle interventions and analyzes population-based and uses geospatial data to identify actionable strategies for improving health outcomes. Dr. Lovan is also committed to mentoring emerging health professionals and translating rigorous research into accessible education, practice, and public-health impact.
