  • Curba Morris Lampert, associate professor and the Knight Ridder Eminent Scholar Endowment Chair at Florida International University’s College of Business, previously served on the faculty of the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business and internationally on the faculty of the Zayed University College of Business in Dubai. Professor Lampert holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.P.P. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine.

    Professor Lampert’s work focuses on technology strategy and innovation, diversification and divestments, and managing entrepreneurship in large corporations. Her current research setting is the pharmaceutical industry. She has published articles in leading scholarly journals that include the Academy of Management Annals, the Academy of Management Review, the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and the Strategic Management Journal. Her publications have garnered over 3,000 citations. She was the recipient of the University Top Scholar Research Award in 2014 (a university-wide faculty award for recognition of research excellence) and the Baptist Health South Florida Research Grant in 2018 and 2020 (a college-wide faculty award for recognition of health care research). Professor Lampert’s research has earned scholarly recognition from national institutions such as the Kauffman Foundation, as well as internationally, including the SITE Award for Best Paper on Innovation Management Published in 2013, presented by the Strascheg Institute for Innovation, Transformation, and Entrepreneurship (SITE) at the EBS Business School. She currently serves on the editorial board of the Strategic Management Journal.

    Professor Lampert is an award-winning educator who teaches courses in strategy, entrepreneurship, international business, and health care management to executives, MBA students, and undergraduates. On 12 occasions, she received the MBA Teaching Award, an honor presented to one faculty member of the MBA program and voted on by the graduating cohort. In Dubai, she founded a Master of Management in International Business program for the Zayed University College of Business and recruited all 21 members of its inaugural class. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a consultant and a marketing director.
