Dr. Helen Cornely is an Associate Professor Department of Physical Therapy and the Associate Dean Administration for the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She has over 30 years of experience as a Physical Therapy clinician and researcher with special emphasize on health fitness, cancer prevention, interdisciplinary health interventions, and gerontological care.
Dr. Cornely obtained her Bachelor of Physical Therapy from the University of Pennsylvania and her Master in Psychology with Gerontology Specialty from Nova Southeastern University. In 2003, she completed her Doctorate in Education specializing in Adult Education and Human Resource Development- Specialty in Adult Learning from Florida International University.
Her years of experience and expertise have resulted in numerous awards and presentations on a global scale including for the American Physical Therapy Association, Hong Kong International Physiotherapy Congress, Florida Physical Therapy Association
She has been funded by the National Institute of Health, National Council of State Boards of Nursing, and the American Physical Therapy Association. Based on her years of experience she is an Abstract Reviewer for the American Physical Therapy Association.
