Since joining FIU Theatre thirty-six years ago, Professor Church has directed numerous classical and contemporary plays, musicals, and community-engaged projects. While his focus lies in classical and Shakespeare performance, Professor Church is following his passion for interdisciplinary study and is currently developing a Filmmaking Certificate Program at FIU open to students across a broad range of disciplines. In 1999, through the FIU Office of Study Abroad and in collaboration with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Church, he established the bi-annual Shakespeare-in-Stratford & London Study Abroad course. In 2011 he founded What if Works Inc. (WiW) a non-profit post-graduate company offering a bridge between the academic environment and the professional world. (www.whatifworks.com).
