Dr. Berenice Castillo received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Social Work and Psychology. She earned her MSW from the University of Southern California and completed her BA in Psychology with a minor in Latin American and Latino/a Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Dr. Castillo’s experience and interests are in research that identifies disparities and mechanisms to improve the health and wellbeing of underrepresented, predominantly Latino/a and low-income youth who engage in externalizing behaviors or substance use.
