Dr. Fernando Alfonso is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Dr. Alfonso is a National Board Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and active member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and Florida Association of Nurse Anesthetist.
As a Nurse Anesthetist, Dr. Alfonso has provided his expertise at Mount Sinai Medical Center, South Miami Hospital, West kendal Hospital, and Jackson Memorial Hospital's Holtz Children’s Hospital.
During his academic tenure, Dr. Alfonso has taught numerous clinical courses at both Florida International University and at the University of Miami.
Dr. Alfonso obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Florida International University and his Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of North Florida.
