This study examined the orientation to learning of adult students attending National Open University (NOU) in Taiwan, focusing on an analysis of the relation between social-demographic variables and adult student orientation toward learnin Findings inform adult educators and researchers in Taiwan to improve contempora education. The NOU was founded in 1986 as a non-formal institution of higher educat which provides adults with opportunities for study which elevates the average educ level of citizens of Taiwan while at the same time improving the general quality of nation’s human resource pool, NOU operates out of four regional centers each ser specific region of the country
