abstract

  • It is pointed out that one way to increase sensitivity of an RF monitoring system is to improve the coupling between the generator neutral grounding lead and the RF monitor. Capacitive coupling appears to be more sensitive than the presently used inductive coupling through a current transformer (CT). Even though there is ohmic contact to the neutral lead, the design of the added RF instrumentation assures that there will not be degradation of the existing generator grounding schemes.
