abstract

  • The authors present a novel technique for the design of miniature DC-DC converters including miniature transformers for use in energy-producing implantable devices. The technique is based on general formulation and solution of the governing electromagnetic field equations utilizing variational methods. It is applicable for both low-frequency and high-frequency transformer designs, and is powerful in handling nonlinear magnetic materials involved in such designs.
