Reconfigurable transmitarrays (RTAs) are highly demanded in ultra-high data rates application, including future wireless communication, and emerging sensing and radar platforms. RTAs are mainly known for enabling high-gain beamforming through spatial phase control, while avoiding the complex feeding networks associated with conventional phased array architectures. However, most RTAs designs have traditionally demonstrated limited operational bandwidth. To address this challenge, we propose a 1-bit reconfigurable transmitarray based on tightly coupled dipoles that achieves ultra-wideband operation and dual-polarization in a low-profile, fully planar architecture.
