abstract

  • The forensic expert has two duties: performing scientific work and communicating results and their meaningfulness; the latter may involve testimony in deposition or court. Testimony in part is what makes forensic science unique; no other scientific discipline has this legal requirement. Testimony is a structured method of communicating scientific results, one that requires specific preparation.
