abstract

  • The fentanyl crisis in the United States has emerged as one of the most severe public health and security challenges in recent history, with overdose deaths reaching unprecedented levels and posing a significant threat to communities across the country. The crisis involves domestic demand and is deeply embedded in global supply chains, transnational criminal networks, and the roles of foreign states. In the United States, policies aimed at combatting drug trafficking have always been deeply intertwined with domestic political battles.
