abstract

  • This paper investigates adaptive power-sharing strategies for parallel grid-forming inverters (GFMs) in islanded AC microgrids. A distributed generation (DG) and a battery energy storage system (BESS) are coordinated using three distinct control approaches: proportional droop-based sharing, selective load sharing with BESS state-of-charge (SoC) management, and a combined operation strategy for extended load conditions. The proposed adaptive droop control method ensures stable and efficient power distribution while enhancing system resilience. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of these strategies in maintaining frequency stability, optimizing power quality, and extending BESS lifespan. Comparative performance evaluations highlight the benefits of dynamic droop adjustments under varying load conditions. The findings provide valuable insights into improving the operational flexibility and robustness of islanded microgrids with multiple inverter-based resources.
