In this work, a novel non-iterative approach to solve the inverse scattering problem (ISP) is presented. Specifically, the approach utilizes eigencurrents of a reference geometry to approximate the shape and electrical properties of an unknown scatterer. The proposed approach is validated by reconstructing the “Austria” profile, where the dominant modes of a rectangular reference geometry are used, achieving suitable reconstructions with errors on the order of 10−2
