Biofeedback and neurofeedback have been used in research and practice to help individuals gain control of their physiological states. Individuals can see in real-time how their body responds to stimuli using a wide variety of sensors and technology. Based on the feedback, individuals can adjust their physiological response and regulate their arousal states. Over the years, researchers have worked on identifying ways to help individuals improve their exercise tolerance using biofeedback and neurofeedback. In this chapter, you will learn more about measuring physiological responses during exercise, how we respond to exercise psychologically, physiologically, and neurologically, and how to increase exercise tolerance using neurofeedback and biofeedback.
