Photovoltaic (PV) inverters contribute to the dynamics of active distribution systems (DSs). Current approaches for solving the dynamics of PV-integrated DSs, reliant on off-the-shelf solvers, are slower, making them unsuitable for realtime implementation. Therefore, this paper presents a numerical approach for solving the dynamics of DSs with PV inverters. The solution time of such simulations largely depends on the underlying power flow model and the solution method. As nonlinear power flow models are iterative and computationally expensive, this paper adopts a LinDist3Flow-based linear power flow model. Case studies are carried out using the European Low Voltage Feeder with five PV inverters. Results show that the proposed approach is more than three times faster than the 'Current Injection'-based solution of the nonlinear power flow model.
