Survival analysis concerns itself with the study of lifetimes/time to event. In this chapter, we look at the estimation of the survival function (probability of survival past a certain time) for complete data and randomly right censored data. Calculation of the Kaplan-Meier estimate for right censored data along with an example is discussed in detail.
