A new antenna array is introduced that is suitable for high frequency (HF) applications. Namely, we propose a cavity-backed HF monopole antenna array with unique elec-tromagnetic characteristics compared to traditional monopole antenna arrays. The proposed design satisfies all the stringent HF electromagnetic and mechanical requirements of wide bandwidth, high efficiency, and low front-to-back-ratio. Full-wave simulations are conducted demonstrating an array with a bandwidth of 2.5 octaves, and a steering azimuthal capability of 60°.
