  • This paper presents the computational simulation of the temperature variation of spheroids during laser heating. The spheroids are assumed to contain nanoparticles that are non-uniformly distributed, thus, resulting in a spatially-dependent volumetric heat source. An analytical solution is used in this work based on the Classical Integral Transform Technique, which was verified with ANSYS Fluent. Due to the small dimensions of spheroids, Beer-Lambert's law is assumed valid for the propagation of the laser beam and calculation of the internal laser fluence rate. Results obtained with typical input parameters, including the spatial distribution of nanoparticles, reveal that temperature gradients in spheroids are very small.
